Donald Sterling, the NBA, the Clippers, and Me

With tip-off last weekend signifying the real start of the NBA season my natural tendencies of the watching television started coming to the forefront. I have kind of been tuned out of TV as I have been writing and reading these past couple of months in a way that took me back to before my children were born.

Still, I fell off that wagon. I was watching games during the week, not writing, not reading, not doing much but being a couch potato. Then the “brilliant” Donald Sterling made his comments that were shared on TMZ.

I am not surprised by the comments as I feel those comments are shared by a majority of millionaires and billionaires which is why the world is in the condition it is in with ideas of population control, eugenics, miseducation, neocolonialism, and more still pillaging the lands of people of color.

It is the same 1% that also contribute to the for profit prison system. The funny thing about this is that it just got out to the public which means that for whatever reason he has angered some of his friends who have decided to throw him under the bus. Somebody at Warner Brothers Entertainment does not like him as all these guys move in the same circle.

So I am thankful for the remarks because it was a slap to the face to wake up and stop giving these clowns my attention and make sure that I am spending my precious time creating. It is not a slight to the basketball players or coaches who are just doing their jobs. Although they do have a voice until I am out there putting myself on the line every day defending our people in a public setting where I face their same level of critique I cannot be mad at them for doing what they feel is best. I think we look to people to do things for us. But we are still going to the games, watching them on television; not even doing basic things to make a difference. But now that this rant is out of my system. Back to editing Circle 7 which should be coming soon. I am not going to put a date out anymore but know it will be a classic and worth the wait. Thank you for reading the thoughts of a normal lunatic.

Revelations of Self

Before I get started my blog which is way overdue let me apologize for the delay in getting Circle 7 out. I am editing the project to make sure that I get you all a quality product. Shameless plug, yes I know.

It has been interesting since I my last post. I had a turning point in my life. It was the beginning of “Black” History month and since I did not have the opportunity to have programs for young minds like I previous years I took my education to social media. There was one post where I was going to hashtag Black power, black love, and black pride where I knew that would make people feel uncomfortable. I actually paused and took a step back afraid of damaging relationships with people who may be offended.

In a moment of clarity I realized that I do not care about the opinions of a person who would care that I support my people because I would never want an individual like that in my circle and when my book drops those feelings would increase tenfold. So it is better to see where people stand now than when minds are awakening because of the journey their souls are traveling through when engaged in the pages of my books.

I just find it funny that I showed hesitance in those hashtags where I have done events that if find about could have got me fired based on the pure and true educational content. It is a struggle that I have where I battle with post traumatic slave syndrome and results of living in white supremacist society. Some choose to ignore it but I identify myself within it and reflect in challenges when attempting to destroy the system. It is through engaging minds that I hope to overturn the system through having complete control of the arts. Circle 7 is the first step then Hungry Man soon to follow. I don’t want the children of tomorrow or my own children to have the same reservations that I had. I want them to be leaders and trailblazers that change the society and the world over so that people of color will have their place globally redeemed.

I am truly excited to have made connections on social media as I am more interested in my book changing your life than making a profit. So wish me the best in trying to have to get this thing out to the people. And make sure you check out #circle7video on Instagram they have cool clips of teachers that have been a huge part of my development. Also if you read this before the 15th of April make sure you do something spiritual for the full moon it is supposed to be epic. Love and Light.
